Fix cracked or moldy grout to restore your shower’s seal and look.
What Is Shower Regrouting?
Bring your shower back to life with a full regrout and reseal using premium waterproof epoxy grout. Our expert team removes old, mouldy grout and replaces it with durable, waterproof Mapei epoxy grout that prevents leaks and keeps your shower looking new for years.
We begin by inspecting the shower area to identify damaged grout, mould, cracks, and signs of water ingress. This helps us determine the extent of work required and confirm whether regrouting is the best solution.
2.
Grout & Silicone Removal
All existing grout and silicone are carefully removed from the tiled surfaces, corners, and joints to ensure a clean base for the new materials.
3.
Deep Cleaning & Preparation
We thoroughly clean the tile joints and surfaces to remove any dirt, residue, or mould. This step ensures proper adhesion and a flawless finish.
4.
Application of Waterproof Epoxy Grout
Premium Mapei waterproof epoxy grout is applied to all joints. This high-performance grout is waterproof, mould-resistant, and built to last.
5.
Resealing & Finishing
All corners and junctions are sealed with flexible, mould resistant silicone to create a watertight barrier and clean finish.
6.
Final Inspection & Clean-Up
We inspect the work to ensure every joint is sealed perfectly, then clean the area leaving your shower looking brand new and ready for long-term protection.
Our Shower Regrouting Process
At Aquatech, we don’t just regrout. We rebuild your shower’s waterproof barrier with care and precision.
Signs You Need Regrouting
Not sure if your shower needs regrouting? Look for:
Mould or Mildew Growth – Dark stains or a musty smell that keeps coming back even after cleaning.
Cracked or Missing Grout – Gaps between tiles that allow water to seep through and damage walls or floors.
Discoloured Grout Lines – Yellowing or darkened grout that no longer looks clean or hygienic.
Leaking Shower – Water escaping outside the shower area or pooling near the base.
Soft or Loose Tiles – Tiles that sound hollow (drummy) or move slightly under pressure, indicating water damage beneath.
Peeling or Missing Silicone – Gaps around edges or corners where the sealant has deteriorated.
Persistent Dampness – Walls or floors that remain damp long after the shower is used.
Tip: Regular cleaning won’t fix crumbling grout — if it’s deteriorated, it needs to be replaced to prevent deeper damage.

What’s the difference between epoxy grout and regular grout?
Epoxy grout is 100% waterproof, non-porous, and highly resistant to mould, cracking, and staining. Unlike cement-based grout, it doesn’t absorb water making it ideal for showers and other constantly wet areas.
How long will my new grout last?
With proper installation and maintenance, epoxy grout can last 10–20 years or more without discolouring or breaking down. It’s a durable, long-term solution that protects your shower from leaks and damage.
Do you replace the shower screen as part of the service?
Yes if your existing shower screen is leaking, damaged, or outdated, we can remove it and install a new semi-framed or fully framed replacement as part of the regrouting process.
Do I need to leave the house during the job?
Not at all. Our work is clean, contained, and typically completed within the day. You can stay home while we complete the service, we just ask that the bathroom area remains clear and dry.
Will there be dust or mess?
We use specialised removal tools with minimal dust output and always clean up thoroughly once the job is complete. Your shower and bathroom will be left spotless and ready to use after curing.
How do I maintain my shower after regrouting?
We recommend wiping down your shower after use and keeping it well-ventilated. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive scrubbers, a mild cleaner is all that’s needed to keep epoxy grout looking new.
